To reach Münster by air, you have two primary options:
- Via Düsseldorf: For international destinations without direct flights to Münster from your city, you can consider flying to Düsseldorf Airport (DUS) first, a major international airport in Germany. From Düsseldorf, you can then take a train to Münster
- Direct to Münster: If a direct flight is available from your city to Münster Osnabrück International Airport (FMO), this is often the most convenient option. Check with airlines for available routes from your departure city to Münster.
Düsseldorf International Airport
From Düsseldorf Airport Railway Station (Düsseldorf Flughafen) the most convenient option to reach Münster is to take a train directly to Münster Hauptbahnhof (Münster Central Station).
There are frequent train services between these two cities, and the journey typically takes around 1.5 to 2 hours, depending on the type of train. You can check train schedules and purchase tickets at the airport railway station or online in advance.

Münster Osnabrück Airport , formerly Münster/Osnabrück International Airport
Münster/Osnabrück International Airport (FMO) is conveniently located just off the A1 motorway (Hamburg - Cologne). A few kilometers away is the junction with the A30 motorway (Amsterdam-Berlin).
The FMO is thus the central airport for western Lower Saxony, Westphalia, and also for the eastern Netherlands. There is a multitude of direct domestic and European connections at the international airport Münster-Osnabrück (FMO). You can fly to Münster from all over the world via Frankfurt or Munich Airport. From here, you can reach the city centre of Münster by bus or taxi in approx. 30 minutes.
